Italy is the eighth biggest importer (country) in the world; with a turnover of more than 300.000 ml Euro per year, it trades the 3,5 % of the worldwide imports.
With oil and gas importing, as in most industrialized countries, at the top, Italy purchases from EU and extra EU countries products for chemical, metallurgical, pharmacological and agricultural industries, clothing, machineries, equipments, pulp for paper industry.
Italy concentrates large amount of its imports in the most rich and industrialized part of the country, precisely in the northern regions like Lombardia, Piemonte, Veneto.
Lombardia is the main player region, holding the 32,2% of the total, with a turnover of more than 100.000 ml Euros per Year in import trades.
